Belarus.ca

Coming together

A home for Belarusian Canada

A place where Belarusians across the country — from Vancouver to Halifax — can find each other, help each other out, and stay connected to home.

We're building Belarus.ca one piece at a time. The site itself isn't finished yet, but the domain is live, and we didn't want to wait for a formal launch to start the conversation. This will become shared ground for Belarusians in Canada — whether you just landed and are still looking for a familiar face, or you've been here for twenty years and know exactly who to call, which doctor to see, and where to find rye bread that actually tastes like home.

You'll notice the cornflower and the woven rushnyk pattern show up throughout this page. The cornflower is a simple field flower that grows wild in the rye across Belarus, and the geometric border comes straight off a traditional embroidered towel. Both have long been unofficial emblems of the country — stitched into folk dress, woven into cloth, sung about in old songs. It felt like the right image for what this site is meant to be: plain, familiar, and unmistakably ours.

What we're building — and what we won't

The idea is simple: bring Belarusians in Canada together for real, practical mutual help. Not conversation for its own sake — a place where it's easy to find the right person, hear about an event worth going to, offer your help, or ask for it.

We're deliberately keeping this site out of politics. Not because we don't care, but because community matters more than disagreement — and a genuinely useful resource should bring all Belarusians in Canada together, not divide them by opinion. Here, you can leave politics at the door and just be part of the community.

Mutual aid and real usefulness

Find a professional, arrange something together, learn who can help with moving, a job, or an everyday problem.

Events that bring people together

Gatherings, markets, cultural and professional events — the kind of thing worth showing up for in person.

Ads from Belarusians, for Belarusians

Only our own businesses and services — no random third-party ads cluttering the space.

News that actually concerns the community

What's happening for Belarusians in Canada — no political agenda, just what's relevant and useful.

No politics, no campaigning

We don't take sides and we don't host political debate — that's not what this site is for.

No outside advertising or spam

No ads unrelated to the Belarusian community — this site exists for our own people.

What's coming

The features we're building the site around — each aimed at concrete, everyday usefulness.

Help us build this right

We're still early, and that's exactly the point where your input can actually shape what Belarus.ca becomes. If you know what's missing for Belarusians in your city, have an idea for a section, or just a thought worth sharing, we'd like to hear it.

Tell us what matters to you: what kind of professional is hard to find, what event should exist but doesn't, what belongs in the guide or the blog. We read every message, and it genuinely shapes what we prioritize.
